// HazelBoard is an offline periodic table reference and element quiz.
[01] Information collected // inputs
None. There is no account, no sign-in, no email capture and no form that sends anything anywhere. The only text you can type into HazelBoard is a display name for your own profile, and that name never leaves your phone.
[02] Local storage // on-device
Kept in OS-level local storage on your device, never uploaded:
- Your profile — the display name you choose and the avatar icon you pick.
- Study preferences — round length, question pool, enabled question types, table colouring, auto-advance and reduced-motion settings.
- Per-element mastery — for each element you have been quizzed on: how many times you answered correctly, how many times you missed it, whether you starred it, and when you last saw it.
- Round history — for each completed quiz: the date, the question types, the pool and scope, your score, accuracy, best streak and duration.
- Achievement unlocks — which of the twelve milestones you have reached and when.
Uninstalling the app deletes every byte.
[03] Permissions // runtime
HazelBoard requests no runtime permissions at all. Its release Android manifest declares zero permissions — not even INTERNET — and its iOS Info.plist contains no usage-description keys, because there is no camera, microphone, location, contacts, photo or notification feature to justify one.
[04] Network // egress
HazelBoard is fully offline. The app contains no HTTP client, no WebSocket, no WebView and no remote API of any kind. All 118 element records ship inside the app binary. You can use every feature in airplane mode.
[05] Third parties // vendors
No analytics, advertising, attribution, crash-reporting or A/B-testing SDK is integrated. The app's only third-party components are open-source Flutter packages that run entirely on-device: local database storage, charting, the system share sheet, date formatting and a confetti animation. None of them phone home.
[06] Children // coppa/gdpr-k
HazelBoard is suitable for all ages and is safe for use in classrooms. Because the app collects no personal information and transmits nothing, it does not knowingly or unknowingly gather data from children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR-K). There is no advertising, no in-app purchase and no user-to-user communication.
[07] Your rights // you
No other app can read this database, and none of it is backed up to us or to any third party.
All of your data is local, so you control it directly:
- Access — everything the app has recorded about you is visible inside the app, on the Profile, Study and Records screens.
- Correction — you can change your display name and avatar at any time from the Profile screen.
- Deletion — uninstalling HazelBoard removes the database and every setting with it. Nothing survives on any server, because nothing was ever sent to one.
Since we never receive your data, there is no request for us to fulfil and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
[08] Changes // changelog
If this policy changes, the updated field at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
